"Jesus answered them, “Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them. And blessed is anyone who takes no offense at me.” Matthew 11:4-6
When John the Baptist preached he said "by their fruit you will know them." He knew it would not just be what we say that matters or even what we believe but also what we do! So, when John's disciples came to see Jesus when John the Baptist was in prison they asked Jesus are you the real deal? Are you the Messiah? Jesus answered as quoted above with the fruit of his life and ministry: "...the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them."
If someone asked you are you really a follower of Jesus what "fruit" of your life and ministry would you refer to to convince them?
Have a blessed and glorious Third Sunday of Advent! We will welcome Fr. Patrick Dorn as our guest minister this week.
Blessings in Jesus, +Gerry
