“With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.” Isaiah 12:3
Dear Brothers and Sisters:
What are the wells of salvation for you and for me? Would the “wells” of salvation possibly be the benefits or fruits of salvation? Jesus death and resurrection are at the heart of salvation. His sacrifice of His life given for all who place their faith in Him. When I think of the wells of salvation I think of the benefits or fruit of salvation: “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23. I think of the benefit of the forgiveness of my sins, all of them. Through Jesus salvation we are set free from the bondage of sin.
May we draw deeply from this well of salvation, from the well that is filled with the fruit of the Spirit and with the fruit and benefits of life in Christ. How do we “draw” from the well of the Spirit? Let is spend time with Jesus thanking him and praising him for giving us this well. Let us pray with expectation for the fullness of the Spirit in our lives as we walk each day with Jesus and with our family, friends, neighbors and those we meet along the way!
See you Sunday, I hope, for a glorious opportunity to celebrate our Life in Christ and our love for Bob and Vicki Uhr, who will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary!!!
Blessings in Jesus, Gerry
